Arrow Step by Step migration to New Zealalnd

    Wishes to All,

I am graduate Civil engineer from India with around 8 years of work ex. I am looking forward to migrating to New Zealand. I have just started with the procedure of the migration.
I would be glad if I get to know the Step-step procedure for this entire process.
I am looking for the Skilled Migrant visa. Please if someone can explain in layman's language the terms like EOI, ITR, PAR, NZQS assessment, etc and their stages at which I will be required to go through.
I have gone through some of the earlier posts on this forum and they are really helpful in guiding. But I am not getting the exact idea of this entire process.
Would be obliged if someone can guide me.

    Regards,

    Humaid

The NZIS website has a great flow chart through the process. Follow the Skilled Migrant path and it shows how it all hangs together.

    Hello and welcome.

http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migra...killedmigrant/ That's the start of the track Duncan is talking about.

http://www.emigratenz.org/forum/arch...hp/t-8621.html That is an old thread to start you off. It looks to me as if you have some of those abbreviations a bit wrong, maybe misremembered, for instance NZQS is likely to be NZQA. If you see a term on a thread that seems to apply to you, just ask what's going on - people will be glad to help out.

Thanks Duncan & Jand! Yes I'm going through these pages and trying to absorb as much as I can. I will surely pop up a query when I get stuck.

    Thanks for now!!

You're welcome. There are quite a few forum members from India, and definitely quite a few people originally from India already over in NZ.

Hi humaid, I am from India. I live in the US though, and i just started the process for skilled worker category . Got my EOI in on Jan 28th (135 pts, no job offer). Saw update on the website yesterday that my EOI has been selected. Waiting for official communication from NZIS.

I have already seen this forum to be a fountain of information and good will. You are in the right place

    cheers!
