    Default Cadbury mini rolls

Bit of a longshot, but am a tad desperate.

My son has put in an order for a pirate ship birthday cake, and I thought mini rolls would be perfect for using as the canons. Trouble is, now I come to think about it, I can't recall seeing these for sale in the supermarket. Had a quick scout around our local countdown last night and no, they didn't have them.

Has anyone seen these for sale in NZ? If not, I may have to think of a plan B!

Haven't the mini-rolls but think I have somewhere seen those little rolled up waffles that you can fill with cream. That might work?

    Nope not seen any sadly....

I have used brandy snaps, (maybe what TonyTessa was referring too?), chocolate fingers and luxury flakes for various cake things, in the past. You can also just buy the cake part of a swiss roll, it comes flat so you can fill it with what you like and roll it up - but that may be just an Xmas thing.

I've also used lego men, canons, crocodiles etc before on a cake and the kids loved it. Although be careful they don't eat any!

    Cheers

I've not seen mini rolls either.

I've usually had great success finding things to attach to birthday cakes in the self-serve sweets section of our New World (where you can also get nuts, dried fruit, etc).

Everyone is going to be craving them now!

You can make requests at the UK food shop for them to stock certain items:
