we use fastway on a regular basis so we buy tickets all the time, making it cheaper. nothing we have sent has arrived damaged or gone astray by more than a couple of days. not sure what the cost would be compared to the post office parcel service.

Fastway is pretty good if you can package the amp in a strong box and keep it under 20Kg.

Don't skimp on the packaging tape.

    Print LARGE labels.

NZ Post office is just too expensive to ship large parcels.

Large parcels are a nightmare here - especially for rural destinations.

I ordered a new gunsafe a few months ago.

It weighed 240kg or thereabouts and it took the combined effort of me and the sender to organise transport and then they wanted to dump it at the nearest 'depot' - 45kms away - and leave me to fetch it!

Eventually we managed to have them deliver it here but it was a saga and a half - the first lorry had no tail lift, then the safe they delivered was severely damaged in transit and had to be removed and replaced etc etc.

The transport co (Mainfreight) have some serious learning to do about service delivery and customer satisfaction, I can tell you!
