Default PAR quesiton: What is my qualification comparable to?

    Hello all,

My first post to this very helpful forum!

I am filling out my EOI. I have my PAR in hand.

    The PAR says:
On the information available, the New Zealand Qualifications
Authority (NZQA) assesses this qualification as comparable to
the learning outcome of a qualification at Level 7 on the
    New Zealand Qualifications Framework.

But the EOI (question F6a) asks:
F6a. What New Zealand qualification was your qualification
    assessed as being comparable to?

Any idea what I should answer?
The PAR report does not seem tio provide this answer!! :-(

    Cheers!

Hmmm, I'd go back to NZQA and get confirmation on that one, especially if the specific route you personally are taking requires a qualification in a specific subject as the basis for work experience or bonus points. Perhaps in that case then you would provide NZQA with the correctly worded title and ask them to confirm that it is equivalent to that.

Just based on what I nearly had to do, others with better first hand experience may follow.

I asked NZQA the same question and they replied saying the answer is eimply:
"Level 7 on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework"

I think you need to go back and be clear that you are not asking about what standard the qualification is equivalent, but what subject. Again, be pro-active if you need that qualification to be in a specific named subject for NZIS purposes.

    I got the same,

The question about what is it comparable to is optional, so I left it empty in the EOI.

I don't think it would cause any problem at this stage, as the purpose of the PAR is giving you indicator about the possible level of your full assessment report.

I noticed many people asked the same question, and I would just tell anyone who would ask me about this one especially that NZQA did not provide such info, and the EOI asks for the PAR result. So as the PAR did not provide this detail, I am not obligated to worry about it, and they should go a head and talk to NZQA.

I see that we are following a "STRICT" process, so if they have a weak point in THEIR process, WE should not be held responsible for it.

    cheers

Thank you for your enquiry, you should say it is comparable to a Level 7 on the NZ Qualifications Framework.

    My question to nzqa
    ---------------------------------
    Hello,

The Expression Of Interest form want to know the answer to the question:
What New Zealand qualification was your qualification assessed as being comparable to?

    My PAR result just says:
On the information available, the New Zealand Qualifications*
Authority (NZQA) assesses this qualification as comparable to
the learning outcome of a qualification at Level 7 on the*
    New Zealand Qualifications Framework.

Should I say that my qualification was assessed as being comparable to "New Zealand Qualifications Framework"?

    Regards
