Default Recruitment during the Holiday Season

    Hi There!

Just wanted to know how the recruitment pattern is in NZ during the holiday season (christmas, new year)?

I have heard recruiters don't do much hiring in december and then ramp up staffing only during feb...is that correct

( it would be helpful as I could head off on a holiday myself )

    Thanks in advance!

At least that's what I have heard so far, I think the norm is to offload all contractors (consultants) during this off-peak period and get them back post February.
My suggestions aren't intended as immigration advice;check www.iaa.govt.nz for certified immigration specialists

Yip that's pretty much the norm.

Most schools are back in the first week of February so this is what guides employers, too.

Depending on the industry, the summer months can be a strong market for contractors filling vacant roles.

This allows companies to commence the permanent recruitment process in Feb/Mar.
