We use www.petcompany.co.nz to come to the house and look after our two cats.
Based on the costs friends at work were quoting for putting their cats into catteries it worked out cheaper AND they came twice a day, brought the post in and left milk in the fridge ready for our return.
Not sure if they cover your area but you might find something similar.

can anyone recommend a good kennel (small pom, overnight) around One Tree hill(Greenlane,Auckland)?
