Maternity and Paternity

Hi all. We're new to this so looking for a bit of help, please!


We are making the move this September and wanted to know what our rights are for maternity/paternity pay and how they differ under both WTR and PR?


Also, is there any government assistant under WTR and PR.


All a bit of a mind field at the moment so any help would be very much appreciated.

I think you have to be in your job for 6 months or year before it kicks in.

Or am I confusing this with something else?

I suggest you need to look on the NZ government websites for the latest rates, as things change from time to time, and probably have since the latest posts on here on old threads. I'm fairly sure the law is still that you need to have been in post for six months to be eligible.
