depends on the skill set, technology (MS, Java and testing are the high demand ones) and your experience.. if you have all three parameters with good communication skills - there's definitely job waiting for you...IMO.

From what I have heard, some projects have been put on hold due to recent events and the economic climate, however there are still jobs out there. If you've got skills that are in demand, then finding work shouldn't be a problem.
For example, we arrived three and a half weeks ago on Sat, my husband saw a job advertised on Seek on Wed, met the agent on Thu, had an interview with the company on Fri, 2nd interview on Mon and the official job offer on Wed. He's now been working since Mon last week![]()

I've been looking for the last month and a half, and there definitely seem to be IT jobs around. We're in Wellington area, and whilst you often see the same job crop up time and again on TradeMe, there's new stuff coming up too. Places seem to keep posting job ads til someone with the right set of skills turns up. Anyone with programming skills should be able to pick up a job pretty quick.
Check out TradeMe jobs pages to get a better idea. That's what most kiwis use.

and seek.co.nz as well (85% jobs posted in seek are posted by agents and they just dont take the CV forward unless word by word your skill set and companys requirement matches..so dont put too much hope !!..having said that I landed up in my current job thru seek, but that was a requirement directly posted by the employer)...so thats the hint !!
jobs / ads posted directly by the employer - you are in a better chance being called for interview.
good luck !!

There does seem to be a lot of "CV fishing" job adverts on Seek. Which makes it a bit hard to work out how many genuine vacancies there are.
