What kind of re-location packages have people been offered when moving from further afield to NZ?
I have received a number of job offers and whilst the offers themselves are one thing, salary, medical insurance, pension, car, etc, the re-location packages that have been offered have varied significantly. Some have offered just a single lump sum to cover everything, others have broken this down into separate capped items covering immigration, shipping and flights, accommodation, etc, whilst others still have offered to provide a car and accommodation for 'X' months on top of the financial re-location package offered. The best offer I have received though would barely cover one third of the total cost for visas, shipping and flights to get the family out there. Probably a sign of the times in what is a 'buyers market'.
Just wondering what other people have found they have been offered and whether employers have been receptive to negotiation on the total package.
