    Default External Drive

IS it okay to bring with me an external drive (I only have a netbook)with lots of saved movies in it?

    Are they strict about this?

    Thank you.

I brought an external drive in my carry-on luggage (backup of desktop pc) and no-one checked it. I would be surprised if they ever do as the focus is on biosecurity but others may have differing experience...

    Hey...

We had 3 Seagate external drives and a laptop with us in our cases, with the PC (5 internal drives taken out and wrapped individually) in the main shipping container. No probelm on either accounts...

Or is the question about the films ON the external drive?

    Hey...

A little digging around at this site, http://www.customs.govt.nz/features/...s/default.aspxor perhaps direct contact for a direct question with them, might help answer your conundrum ...depends on the requirements and or definition of "Restricted and Prohibited items" in relation to exactly what is on your external drive?

I had my external hard drive in my hold luggage, and nothing was even asked!

If you are transiting thru Australia they are getting more finicky about laptops and drives

Now what kind of movies are they?

@mooncalf: oh, nothing like that for sure! its more on tv series that we really like...educational ones too like national geographic series.
