Recommendation for good midwife in Wellington?

Hi All,

I hope I wasn't post in wrong place.

Next January I'll be moving up to Wellington. My wife is in the middle pregnancy. We've got a good widwife here in Dunedin so I need to find the midwife replacement in Wellington.

Could you please advise me or recommend me a good and friendly midwife in Wellington? I really need to sort this out ASAP

It all depends on where you will be located, when we arrived I was 5 months pregnant & was given a list by the Dr (I think) but found they would only come out so far which was a pain as we weren't sure where we would be living, also she had a huge list & was only taken on by the very last one on the list because it was my 2nd so knew a little already otherwise I assume I would have to have just had what the hospital gives out. Maybe give Plunket a call & see what they say, sorry can't be of any more help

Visit the Treasures or Oh Baby site (though I know Oh Baby has crashed today). The forums have a recommend your midwife thread or you could do a search. This way you'll find out from other mums who they found to be a great help and who to avoid if necessary.

You could also try yellow pages as most independent midwives are on there.

I can't recomend personally as yet as I don't start work there as a midwife until July 2012 but midwives generally are a great bunch.
