    Default NZ Citizenship

We have started looking into getting our NZ citizenship by grant.

We will be eligible in about 2 years and the process looks pretty simple.

Does anyone have any experience with doing this?

How long did it take for your application to be processed and accepted?

My application took around 6 weeks to get processed and accepted, as well as waiting another month or so to get my ceremony date.

All in all, it was very straightforward and easy -

it's much harder to get PR

Did you mail the application off or do the in-person appointment to turn it in?

Did you get to choose where and when you did the ceremony?

I went in person since I live close from the Department of Internal Affairs office.

No appointment needed, I just turned up with the forms, documents and fee.

Soon after that, I got a letter from my case officer and then a few weeks later got a letter of approval.

Didn't get to choose the date or place for the ceremony - it was held at my local city hall.
