Short Term Accommodation whilst sorting long term

I am hoping to move to the Christchurch area in March time to work.


However whilst trying to sort out longer term accommodation (probably initially a shared house) I will be looking for accommodation for a couple of weeks.


Is there any suggestions on the best way of doing this......are deals in hostels or hotels available or I had even read about short term flat mates. Any hints or tips?

You may also be able to book into long term studio room at service appartments providers like waldorf , Quest etc..
