Default Panel doctors in London - advice needed

    Hi all,

Does anyone have any good or bad experiences of panel doctors in London? There's quite a long list of them and I just wanted to see if anyone had experiences which may help me choose who to go to for my medical.

Also, are the fees standard or do they vary between doctors?

    Thanks
    Laura

We went to The London Imaging Centre (020 7467 8800) where Dr Cantor is a panel Doctor. We chose there because they do the X-rays on site (so no having to go elsewhere). They also did the medicals for The Hobbit cast.

They were very efficient and the price was very good (not higher than my more local panel doctor).

The only thing is: he insisted on sealing and signing the medical forms- BUT we did see most pages before doing so (we haven't yet opened them, even though others say we can do so: I want to check with INZ first).

    Hope that helps,

    Eliot

Yes, I used them last week and service was very good. I highly recommend them. My wife got bit nervous and worried because our kids were at reciception while we were giving test. Its Ideal for family medical test and staff is quick. Yes, price wise we paid £300 each Adult and child £150.
Yes, true Dr. Insist not to open envelop after sealing. It worries me more, if Dr made mistake or missed any report than we will wasting our time to chase reports again for another test or delays. I guess it would be waste of 10-14 days both ways. According to some INZ agents, Dr sealed envelops can be opened to check any missing reports or mistakes before submitting to INZ. I really don't know what officially Recommended practices say in INZ Operational manual. Anyone knows official reference? Personally, I wouldn't like to waste time of INZ staff and my one to re-do them again.

On page 25 of the Handbook for Medical Examiners says that the envelope does not need to be sealed:

Following completion of Section G and the certificate, the medical examiner is to insert the completed documents into an envelope and arrange for this to be collected or received by the applicant, for submission to Immigration New Zealand. It is not necessary for the medical examiner to seal this envelope; however, the applicant may choose to do this.

I think that the Doctor is getting confused with the Australian Visa process, where the envelope has to be sealed and initialed, so that it cannot be tampered with before it arrives with immigration. My Doctor explained this to me and said that it was fine to open! I would definitely do so before sending, to make sure that everything has been completed!
