    Default net vs gross income

When an employer tells me you get hourly 25 does it mean it is net? If gross isn't it too low?

That would be gross income. The minimum wage in NZ is currently $22.70. So while $25 my be too low for certain visas, or low compared to others in your field, it's well about minimum wage. It's almost the new living wage.

So do you have any idea how much we get net? I was wondering why NZ is one of the best purchase power rate in the world? I am new here but these seem too low for me!

You can use the PAYE calculator to determine your net: https://www.paye.net.nz/calculator/
