IRD Number application from overseas
Folks,
I'm still not in NZ but I wanted to apply for an IRD number. The application form asks for a NZ home address which I don't have at present as we intend to find a long-term place to live once we get there.
So I'm wondering if it's possible to get an IRD number from overseas? Is putting the overseas address ok at this part of the application form?
Cheers

Yep anything i wasn't sure of or couldn't answer just left blank, can't remember if there was space for email address - that might have been on the banks form but i put my email address on any forms we send to NZ just so they can give you a speedy reply/ask any questions without waking you up in the middle of the night!!!!

Hi Folks,
Another silly question but do myself and my wife need seperate tax numbers? In France we make a joint declaration so we end up having the same tax number (with both our names on it).
I'm just trying to figure out if I need to send two application forms or just one for the pair of us.
Cheers

You need to apply for an number each. Print the form twice and send in the same envelope.
