Hi Team,
I had my interview on 15 March 21 and CO informed me that she will be contacting the employer on the same day or the next day.
But even after 1 week, my employer hasn't received any email or call.
Contacted CC and got a response that the file is still under initial assessment.
Any similar experiences, really stressful...
How can we know that the file went to 2PC, do we have to call CC every time for that...

You are not alone in feeling stressed; that's the normal state for anyone with an application in to INZ. As adults, we're used to being able to plan ahead and control most things, but for this, you're in the hands of a huge government bureaucracy, and you just have to wait for them to do their thing without being able to follow each step.
The call centre can only tell you what they find has been entered on the computer, so if the CO hasn't caught the records up with her actions, they aren't going to know. Also, they aren't in the same place where she is, so they can't tell you what, if anything, caused her not to contact your employer when she said.
It isn't part of the COs' duties to tell the applicant every single thing they have done (including about when the case is sent for 2pc) - their main focus is to process cases, and if they stop to update each applicant, this uses time that could be spent advancing somebody else's application to completion. They need to be let get on with their work, so if anyone gets the urge to contact a CO without any genuine, pressing question, it's better not to do it. When the CO has a need for more information, or has information to give you, they WILL get in touch.

It's entirely possible, and normal, for the Immigration Officer to decide that no employer verification is necessary -- what happened in other people's applications can never be used to determine what will happen with yours, as your circumstances are different to everyone else's. For the record, I am not aware of any employer verification that happened with my own application (though, my employer was an accredited employer, so that may have had something to do with it).
From what you have described, your Immigration Officer has recommended a decision to either approve or decline your application, and your application has now been forwarded to a Technical Advisor for a quality check (also called the second person check). While it's not unknown for the Technical Advisor to return the application to the Immigration Officer for remedial action (usually because the Immigration Officer failed to properly check/verify the application, or the rationale for the Immigration Officer's decision is not robust or isn't in line with immigration instructions), I can tell you that if you haven't received a Potential Prejudicial Information letter during the processing of your application (because one must be sent for all residence class visa applications if there's information that may result in a decline decision, per R5.20.5), it's a good sign.

Our case finally got APPROVED yesterday!!
Main principal my husband ANSZCO Code 3212 MOTOR MECHANICS 25/06/2019 - Skill migrant residency application lodgement date
In between, made redundant twice due to COVID, sent in updated information about the latest job and updated evidence for maintaining a relationship.
31/12/2020 - case finally assigned to a case officer
13/01/2021 - first contact from the case officer informing us that he/she will be assessing our case
13/01/2021 - first contact to employer with some basic questions about pay, job responsibility, Organization chart however, employer was on holiday replied only on 19/01/2021
29/01/2021 - contacted co via email to check on the status of assessment, co replied said still assessing. During this period of time, we felt so helpless and wanting to email her so badly but at the same time we tried our best not to annoy her. lol. I have been refreshing the online services page almost everyday, every hour. 15/02/2021 - Auckland Level 3 for 3 days
17/02/2021 - called CC to ask for updates on our case, CC mentioned that initial assessment has been done but there is no notes or updated information on our case, CO will continue to process the case (CC doesn’t know what is the next step)
Another week later.
24/02/2021 - called CC to ask for updates on our case, once again, CC mentioned that initial assessment has be done but there is no updated notes, but this time CC mentioned that my travel movement where my last arrival date in NZ is missing, she asked me to request an update by sending email to movement checks.customs@govt.nz. At the same time, my husband called me (my husband is the main applicant) and said CO called him and interviewed him about the job. There wasn’t any email or note stating that she would call, so we were quite surprise. The interview lasted about 25-30 minutes, CO said that she will make her assessment after that. The interview was mainly focus on the job and daily responsibilitie, CO asked question according to the information on the ANZSCO page.. For example: Do you do this.. Do you work on.. Can you give me an example how you.. 25/02/2021 - CO emailed my husband asking for a new chest x-ray for me because she saw that in the system I have left NZ in Aug 2019 and hasn't come back to new Zealand. We were both at work and only got to reply her at night clarifying our situations and show her the entry stamp I got when I entered NZ in Jan 2020. 26/02/2021 - CO contacted my husband around 8.30am verifying our situation and asked for my number. CO contacted me directly after speaking to my husband and asked me to send her more evidence to show that I have been in NZ for the past 1 year and 3 months (IRD, payslips, letters from my ex-neighbours, landlord and building manager, clickncollect Countdown Receipts during lockdown as I was the person who went to collect the groceries). CO was very nice and replied to us immediately confirming that she received our email.
1/03/2021 - Auckland Level 3 First day. Contacted CC to check if my travel movement has been updated, CC mentioned no update and advised me to send an email to custom to follow up. At the same time we emailed our CO to check if a new x-ray still needed for me and updates on our case. CO replied immediately saying that there is no need for new X-ray, but she mention nothing on our residency case.
11/03/2021 - Contact CC - OUR CASE HAS BEEN FORWARDED TO 2PC - IT IS NOW IN ALLOCATION SINCE - 8TH OF MARCH
Feeling really anxious, seeing others lodged on a later date but getting approved earlier than us. But its good to see others update so we know if our case is moving forward accordingly.
31/03/2021 - between 11.00am-12.10pm - Status online changed from Pending to APPROVED (I've been refreshing the page every half an hour from Monday to Wednesday :laugh, based on observation, most 2PC gets assigned from Monday - Wednesday)
1/04/2021 - Received our AIP and asked to send in passport.
Thank you everyone for your help, especially @JandM, @Kelerei and @ErinGoodhue. It is this forum and facebook page that kept us sane. It is not an easy process but stay strong everyone!
I had an phone interview about 6 months ago and said that she'll ask for more evidence needed. Since then, nothing has been done. Every time we ask for an update all she says is that she's still accessing the application. I applied in 2018 and CO allocated in November 2019. I don't know what to do.

Hello everyone,
I would like to share our timeline to give everyone an idea about where the SMC processing is currently at, especially to those whose SMC application is currently on process.
03 April 2019: EOI selected
11 July 2019: ITA Lodged
30 Nov 2020: received an email from Immigration NZ requesting for updated relationship evidence, IRDs and payslips
8 Dec 2020: submitted IRDs, pay slips, and relationship evidence
2 Feb 2021: applied for a variation of work visa condition as my previous company shutdown and was employed with a new company.
5 Feb 2021: First contact with my case officer. She requested for Chest X rays of secondary applicant and dependent child.
26 Feb 2021: Case officer called me requesting for INZ1235, employment contract, and job description to be submitted to her by my new employer. Bank statement, IRD and pay slips to be submitted by me.
3 March 2021: Submitted all documents she requested.
9 March 2021: Case officer called again and asked for my wife’s English test result then emailed it to her after the call. She replied telling me that my case been sent through quality check.
7 April 2021: Online status changed from Pending to Approved. ��
8 April 2021: AIP letter received. �� ��
