Transport Operations Manager - Waste Collections
A leading player in the Waste Collection, waste management and recycling sector, this rapidly expanding company has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and energetic leader to take control of a collections fleet.

You will have full operational responsibility for the waste collection and fleet management business – managing logistics, vehicle maintenance, service delivery and staff.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Ensuring the achievement of targets for profitability by the effective planning and deployment of people and vehicles and control of costs.
• Ensuring that the service is operated in line with customer expectations and is responsive to changes in circumstances and client requirements.
• Monitoring operational and financial performance against KPI's and responding as necessary.
• Ensuring that drivers and office staff are recruited trained and motivated effectively in order to carry out their duties.
• Ensure that all activities are carried out in accordance with Company policy, procedures and legislative requirements relating to Health, Safety and Environmental standards.

Your Background:

• Proven relevant transport management experience i.e. a busy, multi-drop operation in which high standards of customer service are critical to success
• Accustomed to a large degree of autonomy in controlling budgets and resources
• High level of ownership of results .
• Skilled people manager.
• Experience of financial management e.g. cost analysis, budgeting, ordering procedures
• Strong communication skills, able to deal professionally with contacts at all levels.
• Excellent organisational skills
• IT skills in MS: Email, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Class 4 / HT license is an advantage.

The package consists of a sound Base salary, Bonus and Vehicle.
