Any recreation recommended in AKL?

We are heading to AKL in June for the first time and wondering what kind of recreation people usually have to spend a night there? watch tv? go to bar? or any other activities?:confused:

Go to horse racing.

It's a city with a wide range of possibilities. What do you like to do? Do you like outdoor energetic activities, or somewhere where you can look at scenery, or go for a drive? Do you want to go on the water? Are you looking for sports to watch or participate in? Or drama, dance or music? Galleries? Films? Somewhere to go for a meal? My husband and I are kind of indoor person, and it may take sometime for us to adopt kiwi's "outdoor" lifestyle. But we do like go watching movies at weekends, where can we buy cheaper movie tickets?
And also, my husband is a super fan for soccer, where can he find a place & a team to join for playing soccer?

Thanks Lord Stan, there are horse racing games in our homecountry at weenkends too, but they're for gambling purpose, not our things....:P but thanks anyway

If you use Google and enter "Auckland cinema tickets", you will get links to websites of the various cinema chains and any special deals around will show up. Similarly, "Auckland soccer", although I expect there are people already around who can recommend their own clubs. If nobody responds soon on the thread, try starting another thread with that as the title, to attract attention.
