how to find out if a property is freehold or leasehold

I am just wondering how to find out if a property is freehold or leasehold ?

You might like to check with the local council for a LIM = Land Information Memorandum or


with LINZ = Land Information New Zealand

Thanks for your help my family just got our PR approved we gonna move to NZ end of next month

THis is a key information and usually stated clearly in the advertistment.


If you do find a property that is unusually very cheap, then most likely it is leasedhold (or leaky).
