Whangarei
I searched, but found that all opinions on what it is like to live in Whangarei were PM'd to each other. Can anyone share a bit? It looks isolated, is it? Are there differences from one side to the other? Still in the research phase, and could use your impressions.
Thank you

It's been a while since I was last there. However, it's a reasonably large town, with nice beaches nearby. It has pretty much everything you could want in a town, except not as much and not as flash as in the big cities. If you're looking for a more laid back place to live, then Whangarei isn't a bad choice. :cool

Hello
We have been here 6 months now and I would guess we know the town reasonably well. Depends what sort of info you are looking for. Some useful websites are below, if you would like to know more specifics just ask and I will help where I can.
For the record, Whangarei has a pop of approx. 48,000. It is small, but vibrant. Do not believe the myth that it rains all the time, because it doesn't, the weather is warm, Northland is known as the winterless north.

Whangarei is about 2 hour drive north of Auckland, has good recreation facilities etc........I guess it just depends what you are looking for.
Let me know if I can help more.
