Default Can I take my Goose down duvet?

OMG what a stressfull week we have had.
Thankfully we have finished work now and are busily packing.
On Monday we move to my MIL house, and on Tuesday we fly to Auckland!

Just one question... can I ship my goose down duvet? or will MAF not allow it into the country?

I think (but not certain) you will be OK, but I would leave the goose behind.

Oh, goose down duvet, not goose AND down duvet, silly me.

We brought a goose down duvet and had no problems.

All mine just went under the common heading of 'Bed Linen/Pillows/Duvets' when the packers made their lists...... ....Ooops!

Having said that, I believe that all MAF are interested in are untreated feathers.

I don't think anyone was turned down for that, but it is always good to declare the things as if they want to make your life hell at least you don't give them the reason.
Time to time MAf opens a random box and if they see something has not been declared clearly they might object and decide to investigate lots more and that would mean you have to pay more.

    You should be ok though

We bought all our goose & duck, feather & down filled duvets and pillows and declared them just to be on the safe side. MAF didn't inspect them.
