Default Bringing jewelry when moving over to NZ

    Hi Guys,

I have been searching on the forum on the subjects, but all threads have been few years ago.

Anybody able to share your recent experience when bringing jewelry to NZ ?
How do you go about it?
If you bring along with you on board, what's your experience at the custom when you reached?

    Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure I understand why you think there will be a problem. If you look here http://www.customs.govt.nz/features/...s/default.aspx, then click on the links for the Heirloom concession and the Wearing apparel and personal effects concession, I think you will find anything you want to bring will be covered. As for how to carry it, I know there are specialist companies who take responsibility for transporting high-value goods, but unless you have a huge amount, I would carry your jewellery with you (not in checked-in baggage). You might want to consider using a body-belt http://www.gapyeartravelstore.com/mo...-body-wallets/, so it doesn't leave your person, which can be reassuring if items are of high monetary or sentimental value. Suggestion - so as not to give anyone the idea that you might be worth robbing, don't wear any very noticeable jewellery in plain sight while travelling.

We didn't have any issues brining to NZ. We kept it in hand luggage. At customs, no question was asked.

I would worry more about theft on the plane than the customs.
Keep the jewelleries close to you and not in the overhead compartment!
