Default how to invite mother to visit new zealand

Hi, I am a permanent resident and would like to invite my mom to visit me in New Zealand. Can someone point me to the right direction what needs to be done to get her visiting me?

    Thanks so much!

    Hello and welcome.

I assume your mother is from the USA, as you were. If that's the case, depending on how long she would be staying, the details will be on one of these pages. http://glossary.immigration.govt.nz/...eCountries.htm

Thank you do you know if Cambodia qualifies for parent multiple entry visa? I think that's a good route to go with.

Also, will they interview my mother?

I don't know of any restriction on the kind of visa a Cambodian national can hold, as long as they meet the requirements given.

In theory, INZ officials CAN interview anyone applying for any kind of visa, but I've never heard of it happening for the parent/grandparent one, at the application stage. Most people are spoken to briefly at the airport on arrival by INZ officials, when they show their passport and visa, but if your mother's documents are in order, this should not take long. (Warn her when she travels that she must NOT bring food and/or herbal medicines, because of the bio-security restrictions - this can be a big cause of delays and unpleasantness).

I am sorry if that sounds unkind..., but what about actually giving NZImmigration a ring and ask them..., or try to look at the website for the information!

The forum is a wealth of knowledge, but a little effort from yourself comes in handy, too!

Hi Jan, do you know if parents router is faster than regular visitor route or slower? Thank you for all your help to point me to the right information. Appreciated a lot!
