Default Good areas around Christchurch to Live

    Hi

Looking tomove to Christchurch, I know I read on a thread, someone had put a list of all the good / no so good areas to resettle, but I can't remember which thread. Which areas have good schools etc, we have a 7 year old, looking for a nice safe community to live in. Good after school activites etc. Don't mind living outside Christchurch and communiting but not too far.

If someone could give us a clue I would be grateful.

    Thanks all

    Jo

What a great list, Nicky! Thanks!

My company's NZ division is in Russley. I'm happy to see that Russley is on Nic's "good" list (whew). Does anyone here have any specific opinions on Russley? I'm not adverse to a little commute -- although I'd prefer to do it by bicycle -- but it would be great if we could stay in the same area as my company.

    Thanks!

Russley is next to Fendalton and there is a huge golf course there too (if you are a golfer) on the flight path, but a nice suburb. Houses are cheaper there than Fendalton....and if you lived near work you could walk! (keep the bike for mountain biking!)

Thanks I will check it out.

My brother in law just came back from a trip to Christchurch, he is a Kiwi in GB, but went to visit friends and get me some info, He told me Summer, Redcliffes, and an area inbetween them were really good and his friends are in Redcliffes.

Thanks for the list though as it gives us a choice, Good schools are going to be a main point for us, living close so that our daugther can integrate quickly and make friends.

    Thanks again.

    Jo
