Having read a variety of threads relating to work we were just wondering when you were offered a job in NZ?
And in what field?

My wife was offered a job within 2 weeks of arrival, as an aged care giver. I was offered a job by the first potential employer that I aproached, within 3 weeks of arrival. It then took several more weeks to get work permits in place before we could legally start the jobs.
OH got a job on our reccie, he is a welder. Took one day to sort the work permit, it took us longer to sort out somewere to live etc.......
My OH was offered four jobs out of four interviews during reccie trip and he is panel beater. (He was a manager of accident repair bodyshop in UK, so overqualified for panel beater job hence four job offers )
Came with no job, hubby (I.T) got one after arriving here on visitors visa.
Hubby got a job offer on reccie trip - Building Surveyor (called a QS here but not the same job as QS in UK) - I got one when we moved here & I was a resident working for an environmental charity.
I was offered a research post when here on holiday. I liked NZ, liked the Uni and the prof so accepted and stayed.
I checked the results for some insight and it is currently a three-way tie.
Mark.
came without jobs, it took us three long months to secure one (we didn`t expect everything to slow down to a full stop around Christmas). But since then, had other job offers and have moved around. Laura
accountant - job offer while still in the uk.
