    Default Car Boots in NZ?

Just wondering if they exist. And/or charity shops. We're not posh.

There are some car boot sales but it is usually garage sales advertised in local papers or flyers.

There are charity shops, don't know how many

I don't think you are allowed to import fleas. I am sure I saw them on the list of banned items. Maybe if they are in a sealed can you could take them in and then sell them

Darn, rethinking needed on this whole immigration thingy now. All for a few fleas (or lack thereof)!

At first I thought your question was, do cars have boots? I've only read about car boot sales on the forum, so I would say no, they're not common in NZ. But garage/yard sales are, and flea markets. Charity stores are usually called op (opportunity) shops and are everywhere.

we got red cross charity shops and also we got sallie (salvation army) charity shops too.
Flea markets and garage sales is more common, look out for it in newspapers. Car boots is not common but i have seen one in Blenheim as drive-by to Nelson from chch.
Also you will see 'flea types' shops too.

Hah, maybe I should've said 'We're not POMS'!

Good thing posh people drop things off at charity shops too...otherwise I'd never get to look like one!

Oh boy...trying to get my foot out of my mouth...!

The word I wanted --not pom--but "Toff". See what a year out of the UK does to you?

Now for the definition of 'Pom' which I JUST looked up: "Noun 1. pom - a disparaging term for English immigrants to Australia or New Zealand"

Where on earth did I pick that one up?
