    Default Christchurch - Google Maps

The map and satellite views of Christchurch are fantastic and you can zoom in very close.

Thought this might be helpful for people wanting to get an idea of housing density, locations etc.

I've just been looking in Veronica's back garden... boy does she need a lawn mower

Use the "satellite" and "map" buttons in top right hand corner of map to toggle between map and satellite images. The "hybrid" view will overlay street names on to the satellite image so you can track down property too!

I notice they're on the second iteration of images (weirdly enough one of our relatives houses is worse to view now). As Moorf says, it's great to actually see where your dream hose sits - it's been a bit of an eye opener for us on occasion!

People, give www.flashearth.com a go, it let's you switch between Google, MS, Yahoo and ...some other satellite image provider so you can get the most up to date and higher detailed shots you like.

What are all the "race ciruit" ovals dotted around many a chch field ?

Another nice thing would be to have a kmz file with the prison/fire/police stations shown as place markers. Colour shaded areas depicting posh/nice/rough places and schools would also be a good one.

    Anyone fancy having a go?
