Default small glass bottles for Olive oil ??!

Very exciting, this rural living stuff! Yesterday we picked our olives (with some help and guidance from wonderful neighbours) who also took us to the local press, who are going to turn them into oil!

However, its not been a great yr for olives owing to the wet summer, so the amount of oil will be quite little, but I'd still like to try and put some in a few small bottles for close friends/family. However I've had a bit of a look around in a few stores, but have drawn a blank, so can anyone tell me where I might be able to get some small glass bottles (sort of 250 ml size), pref in Christchurch/canterbury, that I could use to to put Olive Oil in and give as little gifts.

Do any of the big chains carry bottling/pickling type provisions.. ?? or does anyone know of a specialist place (you can tell we are pretty new at all this!)

    Any suggestions much appreciated!

I just know there was a thread about those bottles several months ago, but I can't find it. Hopefully someone will remember...

Me again. I found the thread but I'm embarrassed to say it was actually for vinegar bottles! However maybe the shops talked about in the thread would carry olive oil bottles, too.

    Hi,
]There is a wholesale bottle supplier in the Wellington area that supplies nationaly, shipps, and you can order in qty as small as 1 case, I believe. We use them for some of our product. I have the info at work. If you want the number, pm me and I will fetch it tommorrow. Jenn

thanks everyone - sadly I only need 3 or 4, so less than a case (although thanks for the offer Jennifer). I've tried following up with a couple of the stores mentioned in the thread, but only found vinegar sets - however I've also got a lead on a christchurch catering supplies store on Colombo, so I'm sure I'll track them down eventually!

    thanks for all the help...

try the lady that does the nice mint sauce - off my head she's www.greatstuff.co.nz - she can often be found at the oxford farmers market on sunday morning - her bottles would be ideal .

Found them! was looking on trade me, and there was an olive oil farm who had some bottles left over due to the poor harvest this yr, so nipped over this afternoon and now have exactly what I wanted, brand new 250 ml glass bottles with corks - perfect for olive oil. (also my first trade me purchase, so am feeling (stupidly) proud of my self, one step nearer to being a true kiwi..!
