Are you sure they won't kill birds

:eek
No, but those windscreens sure kill alot of bugs!
That right, becareful of what you introduce to N.Z. Especially considering that MAMMALS drive them.
Those mammals, there just gonna ruin the whole thing for us aren't they.
Ouch . . . put your claws away you lot.
The Honda Civic hybrid and Toyota Prius are newly available in NZ. I haven't found sales figures yet, but newspaper articles suggest that demand far exceeds supply. (there's a 4-6 month wait for the Prius in the Washington area)
There has been a rather lively debate among car geeks regarding the value of hybrid cars versus fuel-efficient cars with normal gasoline engines. Real-world fuel economy for hybrids won't necessarily match the "official" numbers, and it would take several years to save enough in fuel costs to make up for the higher cost of the hybrid vehicle. And then there's the question of battery life and disposal of used batteries. Personally I'm just waiting for low-sulfur diesel to finally make it to both NZ and the US.
Or we could just ride horses. No, wait, they're mammals. :angel
The argument against the benefit in the states re: savings in gas at $2.00 a gallon is one thing. Getting 40/50, miles per gallon when your paying closer to 5 bucks a gallon in N.Z will get you thinking.

& that is one area (I think) where petrol (Gas) is cheaper in NZ than the UK - more than US$6.50 imp gallon.Originally Posted by justin.g.s
