Christchurch suburbs
We found it difficult to picture where the various suburbs were in Christchurch and how far apart they were especially since we have never been to Christchurch.
Looking at a map was useful but we found this very easy to read and gives a very broad picture of the area.
So here it is!

Thanks for that Shagen. Nice to see a map without all the roads etc, agree it gives a good overview of the suburbs.

Now you just need to key it in with some of the areas that are good and bad.

Highlighters at the ready.
I will be doing the same.

Shagen,
many thanks for the map it's really useful. Just got confirmation of PR and we are looking seriously at Christchurch so will now be pondering on where to look.

Your map is great.. I'll add some commute times for the areas I know of:
Approx Times to City Centre:-
Diamond Harbour - 40-50 mins or 30mins using Ferry to Lyttleton
Governors Bay - 20 mins
Lyttleton - 20 mins
Sumner - 30 - 40 mins
Rolleston - 25 mins
Rangiora - 25 mins

I've read about Rangiora a few times now and have seen a docu about dutch couple moving there. So is it a good place to live? Not too far away from Chch if youre work is there, but nice to live and commute? They said they bought a house for NZ$ 100.000 (From what I saw that was a bargain!)

NZ$100,000 for a house?
I doubt it!

May have been bought a couple of years ago before the 'boom'.
