Default Here's an online NZ supermarket - food, etc.

Find out the price of anything for sale in a New Zealand supermarket by using the 'Browse' option on this website (you don't need to register to look around the site):

    Woolworths Supermarket

Woolworths isn't the cheapest supermarket we have, but it's the only one that has an online operation - I think!

Just because Woolworths doesn't have a product doesn't mean no other supermarket does, as their selections vary to a degree.

As always, Beach Kiwi, you are a gold mine of information!

I love to cook a lot of "ethnic" food and I am afraid that some of the ingredients I typically use may not be available in New Zealand. Has anyone ever seen:

Spices: ancho and/or pasilla chili power; Old Bay.

Canned: chipotle chilis in adobo sauce

    Meats: Smoked andouille sausage

    (A real stretch here: grits)

They don't seem to have those at Woolworths, but I imagine a specialty food store might. If not, I console myself that I'll be learning to cook lots of new types of food/ingredients.

^ There's more where that came from!

Most supermarkets do have what you could call 'ethnic' sections, where you can get quite a good selection of foreign 'odds and ends'. Some cities, like Auckland, even have 'ethnic' supermarkets - Auckland having at least one Chinese one, as well as many smaller shops, run by people of all races, and carrying products 'peculiar' to their home country.

Well I personally am hoping for asian spices, namely Vietnamese. That's my favorite!

Depending on which city you're in/near you should be able to get all kinds of Asian 'goodies', especially Indian and Chinese - Vietnamese is also becoming a 'player'. Auckland is the most Asian city in New Zealand.
