Ah, I'm glad I found this thread again. One of my cats is at the vets right now and has just had to have 4 teeth extracted, poor little mite. I'm worried sick right now as the vet thinks it is very unusual for such a young cat to have such bad teeth and gingivitis - she thinks it could be a sign of FIV so we are waiting for the results. Hopefully, he won't have it - fingers' crossed.

Oh goodness- I hope your cat doesn't have FIV.

    *crosses fingers for you*

A cat I was very attached to was just lost because of Feline Leukemia, they're both devastating diseases.

    Thanks, Dilanium.

    *brave smile*

Anyay, the fees were $288 for him to be examined, have a general anaesthetic, 4 teeth extracted, his other teeth to be cleaned, anti-inflammatory injection, and for the blood test.

    We get the results tomorrow.

Got our cat's test results - they were negative. Quite a relief, not least because I had no idea how we'd manage to confine the cats to the house for the rest of their lives.

Now you just have to figure out how to feed him only hard biscuits for the rest of his life instead!

Amber is full of beans and all that we can do is check her lymph glands every month. There was never a conclusive diagnosis, which I found weird, but they're erring on the side of it being non-cancerous.
