    If in doubt, just declare

Removal companies can be lazy but insist on all the questionables being packed seperately in a well labelled carton and declare them

Can anyone confirm / deny if they have successfully brought:

    - bottles of spirits (unopened) without paying duty - we have 3 cases of rare malt whisky (bought as an investment)
    - after-shave / perfume? (part-used bottles)
    - arrows and fletchings (we are field archers)
    - any leather goods - jackets / quivers / leather sofa & chairs
    - candles
    - a diving cylinder
    - air rifles & pistols

I'm sure there will be more, this is just to start with....

    Thanks!

Can you bring wicker log basket made of willow? Thought I'd read no plant based materials but not sure and would like to bring it.

What removal companies are you getting quotes from?? If John Masons is one of them...you might want to ask if they will ship your jewellery over.....

Don't rely on what the removal companies tell you, I would email MAF direct with any queries and keep a copy of your questions and replies - get it from the horses mouth - not from the guys who are just trying to get your trade and may be a bit on the 'cowboy' side, and basically couldn't give a 'tinkers cuss' about your belongings or the regulations on this side of the world, just want your money!

candles - its only pure beeswax candles they are concerned about

wickerwork, rattan and bamboo can be brought in but may need to be treated/fumigated by MAF which will cost you. easier to deal with if its not beaten up an starting to unravel itself apparently...
