While im not making the move yet im trying to plan to visit NZ to look for job offers. However most dates I try the airfare is well over 2000 US dollars. Is there any dates in NZ that are considered 'low season' where airfares drop in price?
Thnx.!

In our experience it varies far more from carrier to carrier than it does seasonally.
From South Africa we could fly with SAA/Qantas for about US$2300, Singapore Air for about US$1750, or Emirates for about US$1200.
These are general prices and vary across flights.
If NZ does have a low season it must be in May-August (winter), but being Summer in the US you might find that your initial connecting flights are actually in peak season anyway?
Many from the UK seem to fly via the US (LAX), whatever carrier they use might be reasonably priced.
avoid any of the longer school holidays
Get onto Air NZ email list. They'll mail you specials notices. We just flew to NZ from US for $820 + taxes roundtrip. They have another special they're offering for Dec 07 and May (?? maybe July) 08 for $920.
Great prices...but very tight seating on Air NZ (some seats cushioning nearly gone but if traveling with companion can't move to another seat as very tightly booked so folded up blanket worked well enough as cushion), in-flight service mediocre but we got there and back without delay. Air NZ staff at the airports were fabulous, though.
Yes, watch for the AirNZ specials. We had visitors from the US last month who flew here for US$876 (US$632 + taxes). Prices are usually highest in Dec/Jan/Feb.
I'm surprised that your flights are over $2000, is that including connections? Where are you coming from? (If you enter a location in your profile, it makes it easier for us to give you relevant information.)
