Robert Burns was the greatest poet (some say) in scottish history. On the 25th Jan (his birthday). People celebrate his work, by having a formal dinner, eating traditional scottish food, there is a lot of his poems and songs played. (he wrote Auld Lange syne amongst others). We also drink traditional scottish drinks like whisky and ... well it's mostly whisky to be honest.

Oh yeah, don't forget the traditional toasts:
Toast to the Lassies
Reply to the Toast to the Lassies
The Immortal Memory (of Robert Burns)
And of course, the piping in of the haggis to the sound of bagpipes, and plunging the knife into it at the appropriate part of the recitation of Tae a Haggis!!

I'm goetting out my poetry book right now!!!
