Talking Organic vegetable box delivery to my house

I just started to have a organic vegetable box delivery to my house for last few weeks from local company called Waihora Organics, she charge $25 for 7 varieties or $35 for 11.

Lists changes each week, depend on what in seasons including scallopini which was news to me 2 weeks ago and found it very nice..
New vegetable this week is Kohlrabi...has anyone got any receipe?

Kohlrabi is eaten a lot in Germany. We used to eat it as kids because mum was German and then dad grew it on the allotment. All I can remember is it tasted like cabbage stalks! I'm sure with my now, a-hem, mature taste I wouldn't be quite so simplistic. But I still can't stand cabbage so I wouldn't bet on it!

But mum and dad loved kohlrabi.

    Here is a good one:

And the good old BBC has a recipe too that is quite adaptable (it has egg in it, but you could probably just substitute it for some sort of milk or similar):

It only has that funny taste if you leave too much of the outside on, I find.

And you don't really have to do anything with it, you can just eat it raw (I always really liked it), of just steam it.

    Maybe it's an acquired taste

Thanks! You are right, I can put milk instead of egg, so that will be ok for my family!

I know we can eat it on own but with 4 years old who is going through phase of "I don't like vegetables!!" so I just hide it inside the food

Yep - it's just a stumpy cucumber imo - bit more "substance" to the flesh but it's just another cucumber variety - use it like other cucumbers...

I peel mine - but then I peel all cucumbers
