    Question UK Disabled Badge

Does anyone know if you are OK to use a UK disabled badge in NZ?
I know I've been to a country somewhere that allowed you to use a UK one.
MIL is coming over & has one & would be a great help if she could use in it hilly Wellington
    Thank you

Sorry, but no it is not valid to be used in NZ.

You can get a temporary one from NZ but it is quite a complicated process, if I remember correctly you need to get a NZ doctor to certify the need.

No, It is very straight forward to get one as I did get one for my grandma when she came over last oct in chch and don't need to see Dr!
Just give few mins to find the phone number for you

Thanks Ian for the quick reply, bummer, I've been told the hill to the zoo is quite steep (haven't managed to get there myself yet) & was hoping the
    in-laws would take my daughter

That's really good, that is not the information that I was given at all.

I got one for my Dad when he came over - I contacted CCS and explained his situation, and they sent me one by return post.

The Auckland office were incredibly helpful.

CCS Disability Action Upper South Region
    Canterbury West Coast Branch:
    27 Kilmarnock Street, Riccarton, Christchurch
    NEW ZEALAND
    Postal Address:
PO Box 8066, Christchurch, NEW ZEALAND
    Telephone: +64 3 348 8974

I know it is canterbury's but they can point you in right direction and if you had problem with your areas', go back to canterbury's and ask if can get it from them because the pass is NOT restriction to canterbury, can be used in anywhere in NZ as my grandma took it with her to my sister's in Auckland after stay with us.
We able to get the pass for our grandma but on one condition that we must post it back to canterbury's once our grandma has left for UK.

Tip from me: READ the rules because it is different to UK's rules so I don't want you caught the wrong side of law
    Good Luck!

    That's a great link.

How do I get a Permit?
All applications have to be certified by a doctor. Your doctor, medical specialist or nearest CCS Disability Action branch has application forms.
From this though, it does look like the information I was given was basically correct regarding needing it to be certified by a doctor?

No need to! Just explain the situation!
