    Question Labelling

As school request everything should be labelling, clothes, shoes etc inclding pencils & pens
We have tried dymo's labels but doesn't stick onto pens & pencils well.
So what did you used for your children's pen & pencils? does it work well for long time like a whole school year would be ideal!!!

We used sew on labels for clothes so that stuff can be sold on when we move with no permanent name in it. Got labels from http://www.able-labels.co.uk/ as it was cheaper than anything we could find in NZ at the time we needed some.

Daughters school do not allow then to look after their own stationary/pens etc (although I put my foot down about the left-handed scissors, that come home with her every night)....the teachers label all the kids pens etc up with CD marker pen (aparently works well) and keep them in the classroom in big pots.

For uniform, we used Name it as they can do family pack. We brought 300 labels at $60 and split into 100 per a child.

    Sharpie pens write on anything.

PS - you know you've gone too far when you label your labelling machine

We've got a really fine tipped permanent marker pen - I can bring it when we meet for lunch Sophia

Sharpie pens are in all the paper plus, whitcoulls and post shops. I think I've seen them in supermarkets too. They are very good for labelling most things.

We even found it took at least a month to rub off plastic lunch boxes, so can't be bad. Doesn't come off in the wash if you write on clothes labels either.

Don't let the kids loose with them though!

I got AJ labels for kindy clothes from

    https://www.stuckonyou.biz/newzealand/index.asp

they do all sorts of labelling stuff... although the iron on dots dont last that long through the wash, so prob better for not so frequently washed items like jackets. the shoe labels work well though!

eidt... CD marker pens do work well too, I label all my plastic tubs with them for the freezer, and its really quite hard to rub off!

All our pencils etc are communal in the classroom.

But....if I did have to label a pencil, how about sellotape? Not particualrly hi tech, but it will work.

We just write in clothes now, as the labels never stay on, we tend to write the surname in case it survives to get passed onto the next child. Its been a challenge with shoes, as a lot of ours are black, so we get creative with silver and glitter pens. Seems to do the job!

    Cheers

    Tia
