Default Immediate or Long Term Skill shortage list?

Wonder if anyone here can clarify this for me...

I see that to gain bonus points for work experience and qualifications you need to have the right ones from the Long Term Skill Shortage List. OK with that.

What's the Immediate Skill Shortage List for? I don't see any reference to it on the website, other than it exists.

It's important to me as it's debatable whether I can squeeze in on the LTSSL (Engineer), but I'm definitely on the ISSL (Mechanical Draughtsperson).

Will it help my application at all?

    Thanks.

ISSL helps you get a general work visa or talent visa.

Basically a prospective employer can use that to show that they needed to hire you rather than someone who already has a right to work in NZ as there is a shortage.

In addition the ISSL is regional whereas the LTSSL is nationwide.

It isn't particularly useful when submitting an EOI under the skilled migrant category.
