Default Auckland / Wellington Salary Survey

I found this salary survey for Auckland & Wellington areas published by Parker Bridge Recruitment. They are mostly accounting, banking, finance and office administration type jobs.

Thanks for that Shagen - very interesting.

Do remember guys that its all relative - salaries tend to be higher in Auckland, however, in general, so are the house prices...

Your probably looking at around $40 - $45k as an average salary for web design/graphic design for mid-level positions. For web design I mean HTML and Front end design stuff, not back end development - you get more money for PHP, ASP, .NET, SQL, Java etc... A good Java programmer can expect to earn $60k per year easily. Now why didn't I learn Java at uni?...... :

For more advanced positions, you can obviously expect more. I know the company I've been working for as Web Project Manager have been employing entry - intermediate web designers and graphic designers on a contract basis that pays $15 - $20 per hour in Welly. I think this is a bit below average (although I could be wrong!), but I know you can get more if you contract through an agency though.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers,

    Jod

interesting, i don't know much about salaries, but at a glance they seem like equal numerical value to salaries in the states (although the value of the currency is of course a bit less).

thanks for the info on web design, i'm a graphic artist myself (although in another field), so it's great to hear news from "the front lines" :-P
