It got that name from Captain Cook, after he used the trees leaves to make tea after his ship ran out of the real stuff.

The wood doesn't really have a smell. :cool

This rental has no insulation in the walls and the room I work in, only gets the sun in the afternoon in time for me to pack up and get the kids from school . I want my central heating back

Shorts are what we call, well, short pants, *not* the other kind of shorts.

BTW, I'm still only wearing shorts right now, and it's nearly 9-00pm - no heaters, or anything else on, either! :cool

get some blue gum or macra. it will burn slow and hot (hopefully, although it will depend on your burner) pine will be hot but will be gone in about 5 mins!
We are getting 6 mets (we go through about 9 mets from march - nov and it is our only source of heat ) delivered of macra for $340

make sure it is dry and I dont just mean rain dry but not green. Blazing firewood has macra for $360 but it has only been down 11 mths and still a bit green and as we had some off them last year that they had to come and take back cos of that problem, we are not risking it again.

If you want the marca guys number email me,
    Nic

It must be the time to order firewood - huge piles are appearing on driveways and on pavements outside houses all over Sumner!! Delivery is free from most companies that I have now contacted - but it looks like it will take 2 days for us to wheelbarrow it all into the garden and stack it!!

Hope they don't run out before we get ours!!

nearly a month since beach Kiwi's wearing shorts post and here on Waiheke, The Pope and Prince Rainier have passed away, Charles and Camilla have postponed there wedding day, our next door 74 yr old neighbour has threatened to report us to the police for having noisy cars (I admit it they are) Fortunately we are aware that she has been escorted of other properties by the police before now when she has complained about noise, and I am wearing shorts, at 9 in the evening.

And there is nothing worth watching on the TV Roll on Kath and Kim on Sunday followed by Billy Connolly.

This is, I assume, the same tea-tree that we use over here as an antiseptic? That tea must have tasted sooooooo good
