    Default Warehouse trampolines?

Our children (4 and 2) really, REALLY want a trampoline for Xmas. Just had a flier through today and the warehouse have them on special offer for the next couple of weeks.

Is this really a bargain or will they break within 5 mins etc?

    TIA,

    Lou

I would check it out to see that it looks of reasonable quality and that there aren't any obvious hazards.

But in any case, I wouldn't worry about them breaking in 5 minutes. The warehouse guarantee is very good.

While the Consumer Guarantees Act and Fair Trading Act provide the basis for The Warehouse’s returns policy, we in fact go above and beyond the expectation of these two statutory laws. The Warehouse has a 12 month money-back guarantee with printed proof of purchase. For a product to be returned under our policy, that product must be in a resalable condition unless faulty or otherwise defective. It’s this policy that provides you peace of mind while shopping at The Warehouse.
So if it does break in the first year, then they will give you your money back, and from my experience this is no quibble

Let the buyer beware concerning the Warehouse guarantee - there are exceptions as we have found out with our trampoline!!

The tramp itself is great, but the matting that goes around the edge has had it - they reckon it is wear and tear (?) surely they are designed to last more than 8 months if kids are boiuncing on them!! But the tramp itself is very stable and well made, tubular galvanised steel if they the same ones.... our kids (and the neighbours too) love it.
But for young ones, make sure you get the enclosure to go round it - saves you having many nervous moments about bouncing off the edge in to the lemon trees etc.

We bought our tramp approx 4 years ago from a sale at The Warehouse and it's still going strong.

With regards to Warehouse guarantees - do you need to have the little guarantee form stamped when you buy the item (the one that comes with the product, in the box etc)? Bought a kettle at the weekend and didn't think to get the guarantee signed/stamped? Will this matter or will the receipt be sufficient?

Under the Consumers Guarantee Act, the goods must be of an acceptable quality.

    Goods must be:
    • fit for the purpose they are made for
    • safe
    • durable - last for a reasonable time
    • have no minor defects
    • acceptable in look and finish.

When deciding if goods are of acceptable quality you must take into account the price you paid, any information on the goods or the package, anything said by the manufacturer or seller about the goods. This also applies to second hand goods.

eg, if you are told when buying goods that they are shop soiled you will not be able to complain later about marks on them.

Goods will usually meet the guarantee of acceptable quality if most consumers would be happy with them.
Was it reasonable for the matting to wear out in 8 months, if most people would disagree then the Warehouse would be liable.

BTW, for those of you who don't know, this even covers things like washing machines that may have run out of their guarantee years ago.

The receipt is more than sufficient.

Our Warehouse tramp in good after about 9 months or so with pretty full-on use by the boys Netting only good if you remember to zip it up cos wee ones will choose the hole to fall through

We took our toaster back to the Warehouse about 2 months ago as it had given up the ghost and they gave us another one no problem
