I guess it depends on if you want to use it at an ATM to get some cash or use it in the shop like a credit card?


For example

Banking with ASB overseas


says that you can use their cards in any ATM that has the PLUS logo


(assuming that you card also has the same logo).


So if you just want it for withdrawing cash at the ATM then it would appear that it will work.


I would of course check with your own bank what arrangements (and charges) they have.

Usually you can use your card at most ATMs to withdraw cash (with a fee of about $5, depending on your bank) but can't use it for eftpos in stores.

There are some funny little ATMs in Aussie not owned by banks (in pubs and convenience stores) so not sure if you can take money out of these but any of the bank ones you should be fine

I have absolutely used my ASB eftpos card in shops in Australia.
