    Default Best place for tools?

I've had a look through the forum and can't find a suitable answer, but where have people found the best (cheapest) place for QUALITY power and hand tools?

I've had a look at Mitre10, Bunnings, etc. Just wonder if there are any other places out there? I was a big fan of Screwfix Direct back in the UK.

Just about to start renovating a villa, so will need everthing!!

    Thanks for your help!

theres one here in Christchurch called placemakers. better than Bunnings. we have found that nearly everything we have bought from Bunnings has had to be returned because of faults etc. I think with tools its better to pay a tad more and get something a bit up from the cheapest.

Thanks for that Timbo - very interesting.

Exactly my thoughts Veronica - thinking of treating myself to a couple of DeWalt goodies!

Strange that Veronica, we too have had a nightmare with Bunnings products... our sun brolly for the outside table was broken when we got it back home, they replaced it with another which has subsequently broken. They had to replace the BBQ as it had dents in it. The outdoor benches had parts missing.

To add insult to injury they offered me a bonus free Bunnings ball-point pen when I picked up over $1400 of goods from them!!!

I'll check out Placemakers in future

Hey BK - are they the best as in cheapest or best as in range? We need some tools but as we're not big DIY'ers just want a few basic ones that are cheap too!

They have the best range of quality brand tools. But their prices aren't that bad. They also have good after sales service.
