Default Passport Renewal, Child to adult

    Hi,

I've just downloaded the forms for an adult passport application for my son who is now 17, his passport runs out in june, and saw something on the web site about registering an adult (400 pounds).

Does anyone know anything about this or has anyone applied for a passport change from child to adult, surely they dont charge u 400 quid to change over , plus the $360 (or there abouts)

Or am I just being naive

If you mean a UK passport, the charges should be as follows:

    http://www.ips.gov.uk/passport/fees.asp

I had to renew my passport and including all fees it was £80 ish, but have had to do 2 new kids as well which bump up the cost.

    Where did you see 400£?

I'm pretty sure (but not certain!) the GBP400 charge only applies when you are registering as a British Citizen so doesn't apply when you are renewing a passport.

(JandL: the fee southparkers is referring to can be found here: http://ukinnewzealand.fco.gov.uk/en/...passport-fees/)
