Default Approximate Cost to Paint a House?

We are in the process of buying a house. The building inspector tells us that we should plan on painting within the near future. (The house looks fine to me but supposedly the painting is required to protect the cladding.) Does anyone have an approximate cost to get this done? The house is two stories and 275 square meters, by the way. Thanks!

A fortune I'll bet! We've just painted the kids bedrooms and it cost $100 each for the paint for each room (4litres each) and that's the cheapest paint....extortionate in comparison to the UK.

You will be looking almost certainly in excess of five figures and possible by some margin if you get a quality outfit to do it. Some people use cheaper labour, but then find it needs doing again a lot earlier than it should.

Our house is 220 square meters and we were quoted $9000. I thought it would be about $6000 so going to get some more quotes

The main thing is to make sure all are clear on what you are getting i.e. is the whole building being rubbed down, nails and any corrosion/rot being treated etc., Does this include paint as that could be a couple of thousand bucks on top.
