    Default Teens working

Do 14 & 15 year-olds get part time jobs in NZ? I've looked in various places and all I can see is that they can babysit from 14, but nothing else.

What about part-time work in shops, paper-rounds etc.?

My 14 year-old does a paper round in Scotland and will really miss the money if she can't do something to earn pocket money when we arrive.

From my experience through friends and family it's pretty common here and my OH started working for pocket money at about 10, which I thought was pretty young, although this was twenty odd years ago.

He did paper runs, milk runs, McDonalds, etc.

His teenage nieces and nephews have also recently worked doing paper runs, at supermarkets and fruit & veg shops, at the bowling alley, etc., so there definitely are jobs around for teens at least here in Auckland.
