Default Bamboo clothing - availability and prices?

We're on our (very long) stopover in the States and have just discovered, and fallen in love with, bamboo clothing.
Part of me says 'you'll be able to buy it in NZ, and it will cost the same or less'. Another part says 'either you wont find it or it will be more expensive / less choice"

A quick google showed some online retailers - mostly for baby and childrens clothing. I'd really prefer to try stuff on before I buy.

So, anyone got any info about shops selling bamboo clothes - preferably in Wellington? Or should I stock up here?

I don't know of any bamboo clothing personally (had bamboo nappies for my daughter though), but judging the price of 'standard' fabrics I'd say you are best buying in the states.

I've seen bamboo underwear here (Farmers) but no idea how the price compares.

Considering normal clothing in the US costs next to nothing and normal clothing here costs quite a bit, I would suggest the same is true for bamboo clothing. Plus general availability might be worth considering too, can't remember exactly where you are heading, but you'll probably find that your local clothing store doesn't stock too many bamboo clothes

thanks all - I shall buy what I see when I see it, when I like it, if you see what I mean.
Meantime, if anyone has more info, let me know.

Kathmandu Enact (organic) clothing range uses fabrics including bamboo, soy, hemp etc.

Other than that, try these websites.....

I got a pair of bamboo socks from K-mart, they must have been similar price to cotton socks or I would not have bought them.
