    Default Firewood in Wellington

Ok I know, it's starting summer (apparently) but.... we've just moved into a new house which has an open fire.

I would like to get some firewood.

I don't need much as the fire is not the main source of heat for the house.

Any tips on where I can get some reasonably priced DRY wood?

Getting dry forward at this time of the year might be a bit difficult, the firewood merchants are usually cutting it up now for the coming winter. You might have to dry it yourself.

Hi Jan, the only place I've seen around is the same as Lindsey, it's in Grenada North (Tawa exit on SH1).

    Cheers

Probably not much use, but the Greater Wellington Council allow you to collect firewood from areas that have been logged (at a cost), see Firewood for details.
